《醒魂》系列插画-醒狮起源
1、项目背景 ：19年4月份有幸观看《醒狮》舞剧，看完之后不知为何如此热血，尤其是它说出那句话的时候--“有华人的地方就有醒狮”。身为佛山本地人我个人对醒狮文化一直都充满着喜爱与好奇，看完舞剧后我身上的民族自豪感越发强烈，随后查找与研究了醒狮文化的起源和传说，想象着如果这些传说是真实存在的，醒狮也是真实存在的神兽生物，结合当时的历史背景又会发生一些什么样的故事呢？这又会是一个怎么样的世界呢？
2、设计目标：此次绘画目标是把传统固有的醒狮文化形象活化起来，把他幻化成真实存在的生物，而且中国神兽文化不单只有醒狮文化，狮舞文化也不单只有醒狮文化，这是一个十分庞大的神兽宇宙。这次系列插画着重描绘的是狮舞文化中南方狮舞的分支-醒狮。把它结合传说和时代背景，看能产生出怎么样的火花。
3、观点思路：我结合现有的资料和形象使用了反推的方法把“醒狮”这一生物设计出来，同时结合传说把背景设定在清朝时期，因当时年兽猖獗伤人，所以把醒狮召唤了出来。同时人们正处于反清复明时候，醒狮的崛起寓意和反应当时的人民也应觉醒不再沉睡，为反抗封建统治而斗争。“醒狮”这一名号也由此诞生，在此之前人民一直把它叫作“瑞狮”，粤语中“瑞”同音“睡”，由此反应了这一时代背景。
4、创新特色：我一直坚持手绘创作，此次插画运用的是水彩加墨水而画。我把这一民间传说想象成真实事件而通过系列插画描绘出来，通过场景和氛围的渲染突出故事中的每个情节。而且这是个持续创作的系列，因为全国各地都有很多种狮舞文化，每一种狮舞都有当地独特的地方文化特色，是一个非常好的创作素材，未来有望成为一个庞大的神兽宇宙。现今有很多弘扬传统文化的艺术创作，醒狮文化也不例外，是很多设计师的创作素材，但很多作品都只流于表面形象，没有深究其背景与历史，其实长远来说并不利于这种文化的传承与发展。我觉得要画就必须了解清楚，此次系列我花费了大半年的时间来创作，很多一部分时间其实是在研究和深挖。这系列作品在此之前荣幸获得了第七届全国插画双面展的金奖。
Illustration of “Waking Up” Series-The Origin of Dancing Lion
1. Project Background: In April 19, I was lucky enough to watch “Dancing Lion” dance drama. As a native of Foshan, I was personally full of love and curiosity about Wake Lion Culture 1. After watching the dance drama, my national pride became stronger and stronger. Then I searched and studied the origin and legend of Wake Lion culture. I imagined that if these legends were true, the Wake Lion was also a real creature of God and beast. What kind of story would happen in the light of the historical background at that time? What kind of world would this be?
2. Design Goal: The goal of this painting is to revitalize the traditional image of the dancing lion culture and transform it into a living creature, a 10-minute universe of gods and beasts. This series of illustrations focuses on the southern lion dance branch of the lion dance culture- dancing lion. Combine it with the legend and the background of the times to see what kind of sparks can be produced.
3. Ideas: In combination with the existing materials and images, I use the method of counter-push to design the creature of "dancing lion", while combining the legend to set the background in the Qing Dynasty, because the beast was rampant at that time, so I called it out, the meaning and reaction of the rising of the lion should also wake the people at that time to fight against the feudal rule. The name "Dancing Lion" also came into being. Before that, people called it "Rui Lion" directly. In Cantonese, "Rui" was synonymous with "Sleeping", which reflected the background of the times.
4. Innovative Feature: I insist on hand-painting, this illustration is using watercolor ink and painting. I visualize this folklore as a real event and paint it through a series of illustrations that highlight every plot in the story through the rendering of scenes and atmosphere. And this is a series of continuous creation, because there are many kinds of lion dance culture all over the country, each lion dance has its own unique local cultural characteristics, is a very good creative material, the future is expected to become a huge god beast universe. Nowadays, there are many artistic creations that carry forward the traditional culture, and the culture of dancing lion is no exception. It is the creative material of many designers, but many works only flow on the surface image, do not study its background and history deeply, in fact, it is not conducive to the inheritance and development of this culture in the long run. I think it is necessary to understand clearly that I have spent more than half a year creating this series, and a lot of time is actually studying and digging. This series of works was honored to have won the golden prize of the 7th China Illustration Biennial.
